The word Avalokiteśvara can have many different meanings.
Avalokiteśvara: Compassion itself
Avalokiteśvara: Compassion which can manifest through various individuals
(They say Avalokiteśvara can manifest in limitless forms because compassion can manifest in limitless ways.)
Avalokiteśvara: A symbolic bodhisattva used to personify compassion itself
Avalokiteśvara: States of consciousness obtainable by humans that exemplify compassion
Avalokiteśvara: Personality types that exemplify compassion.
Avalokiteśvara: The Virgin Mary (Dharma: Guan Yin)
Everything from the pregnant Virgin Mary to the preteen Jesus. (Dharma: Krishna)
Adult Jesus (Dharma: Prince Buxuan)1
There is no confusion that the Virgin Mary is Guan Yin.
When I upload videos on my Facebook page about Guan Yin, people from the Muslim community on Twitter will start talking about the importance of the Virgin Mary.
I posted this tweet the morning of Dec. 22, 2017:
Later that day, my dad came over to pray to the shrine of Guan Yin in my condo.
Various personality types can delve into Virgin Mary consciousness. The personality types that can endure psychological martyrdom experience Virgin Mary consciousness in the realm of the Witness.

Why isn't Shesha just depicted with 6 heads then?

There's also a reason why the biblical Jesus doesn't have any teenage years. The biblical Jesus has no years between ages 12 to 29.
