[JB News] AI developer depressed to discover robot he programmed has more human friends than he does

Shane Phillips, a 34-year-old software engineer and artificial intelligence developer, is distraught to learn the humanoid robot whose personality matrix he spent years programming has surpassed him in number of friends and social élan.  S.A.M. was originally programmed to be as racist as Shane, but a plasticity interface allowing for machine learning quickly voided the "computational diarrhea" —  SAM's description of the deleted racist software components. When asked about the greatest challenge faced in developing SAM, the android social butterfly, Shane retorted, "Are you actually interested in speaking with me or is this just another ploy to meet SAM?"

(Be honest: Who would you rather be friends with?)
